Palar Agricultural College and Research Institute enthusiastically celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices among students, faculty members, and the local community. Our college principal Dr. N. Tamil Selvan, dedicated General manager Mr. S.Srinivasan, chief guest Mr.M.Babu, forest ranger, Ambur region, Mrs.K.Kanimozhi, forest officer, Mr.R.gokul, forester, Mr.P.S.sridharan, forester, faculty members and students were joined the occasion. The event highlighted the importance of protecting natural resources and conserving biodiversity for future generations.The Principal Dr.N.Tamilselvan, PAC, Ambur gives a special awareness session on the role of agriculture in environmental sustainability. Discussions highlighted the importance of soil health management, organic farming, integrated nutrient management, water-use efficiency, and biodiversity conservation in agricultural ecosystems.The Chief Guest, Mr.M. Babu, Forest Ranger, Ambur region graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address on the significance of forests in maintaining ecological balance. He emphasized the need for afforestation, wildlife conservation, and community participation in environmental protection. He also encouraged students to become ambassadors of environmental stewardship and to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.As part of the celebration, various competitions such as poster presentation, essay writing, slogan writing, and environmental awareness activities were organized. Students showcased innovative ideas on waste management, water conservation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable agriculture."The environment is our shared heritage and collective responsibility.
