Sigaram Thodu – Civil Services Awareness Seminar Successfully Conducted at Palar Agricultural College

Palar Agricultural College, in association with Kingmakers IAS Academy, successfully organized “Sigaram Thodu – Awareness Seminar on Civil Services Examinations” on 22 July 2026 at the PAC Auditorium. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about career opportunities in the Civil Services and motivating them to aspire for leadership roles in public administration.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, faculty members, and staff members. The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries whose inspiring addresses encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with dedication and perseverance.
The programme was held under the patronage of Thiru. K.C. Veeramani, B.A., Chairman, Palar Agricultural College and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), Jolarpettai Constituency, whose continued support for quality education and student development has been instrumental in promoting academic excellence.
The Chief Guest, Thiru. B.S. Dhanush Kumar, I.P.S., Assistant Superintendent of Police, Vellore Sub-Division, shared valuable insights into the responsibilities and opportunities associated with the Civil Services. His address motivated students to develop leadership qualities, integrity, discipline, and a strong commitment to serving society.
The keynote session was delivered by Dr. M. Boominathan, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Founder and Director of Kingmakers IAS Academy, who provided comprehensive guidance on the Civil Services Examination. He explained the examination pattern, preparation strategies, time management techniques, and the importance of consistency, determination, and focused learning in achieving success.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. N. Tamilselvan, Ph.D., Principal, Palar Agricultural College, who encouraged students to broaden their career aspirations beyond conventional opportunities and actively prepare for competitive examinations. He emphasized that Civil Services offer an excellent platform for young graduates to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The programme also featured a Special Address by Mr. Thambi Thamizharasan, Editor, Malai Murasu TV, who motivated students to remain informed about current affairs, enhance their communication skills, and cultivate a lifelong learning attitude—qualities that are essential for success in competitive examinations and public service.
The seminar concluded with an interactive session where students actively engaged with the speakers, clarifying their queries regarding examination preparation, career planning, and opportunities in the Civil Services.
