Palar Agricultural College inaugurated the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) for the Final Year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture – 2022 Batch under the course titled “SST 451 – Commercial Seed Production.” The programme aims to provide students with practical exposure and hands-on training in commercial seed production techniques.

As part of the inaugural activity, a group of 25 final-year students who selected this course began their field training by sowing Cowpea seeds at the College Farm on 06 March 2026. This practical activity marks the beginning of their experiential learning journey, where students will actively participate in various stages of seed production, crop management, and field operations.

The programme was organized by Mrs. Sathaya, Assistant Professor (Seed Science and Technology) and course instructor. The activity was conducted under the guidance of Dr. N. Tamilselvan, Principal, and Mr. S. Srinivasan, General Manager, Palar Agricultural College.

The Experiential Learning Programme is designed to enhance students’ technical knowledge, practical skills, and entrepreneurial understanding in seed production, enabling them to gain real-world experience in agricultural practices and agribusiness management.

Through such initiatives, Palar Agricultural College continues to emphasize experiential learning and skill-based agricultural education, preparing students to meet the growing demands of the agriculture and seed industry.
